On February 6, 2019, a meeting was held in Talas on the issues of the Alliance Altyn Company's exploitation of the Jeruy deposit and its participation in the socio-economic development of Talas oblast. The meeting was attended by Marat Murataliev, the authorized representative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in Talas oblast; Kanybmet Osmonbekov and Aziyat Zharkynalieva, deputies of the authorized representative; Akims of districts, heads of village governments, heads of regional and district institutions and organizations, public representatives, as well as Mikhail Shubin, CEO of Alliance Altyn LLC and Kolbay Musaev, his deputy, about 100 people in total.
The conference was opened by the authorized representative, M. Murataliev. He spoke about the results of the meeting of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic on January 30, 2019, which addressed the issue of security measures in the field of subsoil use of the Kyrgyz Republic.
CEO M. Shubin reported on the complete work and plans for 2019. He informed the audience about the progress of quarry and processing complex construction, fulfillment of license obligations, main technical solutions, and stressed that the project is implemented in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as with national and international ecological and industrial safety standards. The CEO said that 45 candidates for workers and auxiliary professions are currently being identified to work at Jeruy, who will be trained at the company's expense and then hired. The company gives top priority to recruiting personnel on a competitive basis from among citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and, above the rest, from young Talas residents who will undergo the necessary vocational training. In total, when the enterprise reaches its full capacity, about 1,000 jobs will be created, and at least 90% of the employees will be citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Deputy CEO of Alliance Altyn K. Musayev reported on the activities of Alliance Altyn LLC and Bakubat Talas Welfare Fund on social support of the population and promotion of economic development of the region.
The participants of the meeting were interested in various issues, including the terms of field exploitation, fulfillment of license obligations, compliance with environmental standards, the amount of tax revenue, the distribution of resources from the Bakubat Talas Fund, and the safety of local cattle breeders during the use of summer pastures. Executives of the Alliance Altyn LLC and the Kyrgyz government representative in Talas region gave detailed answers to the questions posed.
The participants of the meeting also made various proposals and suggestions to Alliance Altyn LLC and Bakubat Talas Fund, and generally approved the Jeruy deposit exploitation project. Alliance Altyn has expressed its desire for close cooperation with the local community, its willingness for open dialogue and regular meetings with activists and local residents.
