April 19, 2024, Talas: Alliance Altyn, which is developing Jeruy site in Talas region, held a round table named Environmental Dialog: A Look into the Future. The event brought together the Presidential Plenipotentiary’s staff in Talas region, environmental specialists, scientists, students, water utility and emergency response experts, public and government agencies, as well as civil society leaders.
The participants discussed environmental concerns of Talas region and shared solutions to sync efforts against the threats to the nature of Talas.
This resulted in a resolution focused on the environmental safety of the region. The document sets forth landscaping, rational use of water, waste cleaning and waste sorting, fire prevention and ways to keep woods clean.
According to Asman Tashmatov, PR, Alliance Altyn, the members of the round table put forward 8 (eight) proposals. The in-depth study will help to choose the scope of suitable solutions and the size of funding.
It is worth adding that Alliance Altyn’s Development Fund has allocated circa. KGS50M in total to environmental projects.
The participants also discussed the impact of Jeruy gold mine on the environment. Environmental experts emphasized that the company’s processes have always been monitored, with inspections duly carried out, and Alliance Altyn has not made any serious mistakes for 9 years in a row.
Bekmurza Ashymov, Head of Talas regional department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Electrical Supervision, highlighted that the company embraces eco-friendly projects, and that he passed on to Alliance Altyn a proposal for financial backup of Bekkari pit preparations, around landfills in the villages of the region and in the city of Talas.
It is worth adding that Alliance Altyn adheres to transparency policies. Its PR function shares monthly Vestnik Jeruy bulletins with all information about the company’s monthly operations, funding allocated for the development of the region, fulfilled projects, etc.
Besides, the company cooperates with the government, civil society, population and other stakeholders by sharing transparent information and showing the production zone of the site.
