Jeruy's 2022 success: 30 % gold extraction growth, $209 million taxes paid

06.12.2022

In 2022, Alliance Altyn that exploits Jeruy site reached all its targets set in the beginning of the year. This year's ambitious goal was to melt out 4 tons of precious metal, and the process is well underway. Thus, gold production will grow by one ton (+30 %) by late 2022 vs. 2021. The taxes paid to the budget of Kyrgyzstan since the start of Jeruy exploitation, reached $209.1 million (almost 18 billion soms at the current exchange rate) as of October 31 last year.

This year, the work to increase the fleet of mining transport and auxiliary equipment has been actively underway. In 2022, more than 50 equipment units were purchased and put into operation (high-performance Hitachi excavators, Caterpillar and Volvo dump trucks with 55 ton and 25 ton lifting capacity). The fleet of road machinery has been strengthened.

Special attention is paid to environmental safety. The tailings dump on Jeruy site is state-of-the-art and built using composite materials. It is unparalleled in the whole republic. The company's long-term plans include a zero-waste mining program. Studies have been conducted on industrial waste recycling for future construction (foam blocks, bricks, dry building mixes). This is going to be an additional contribution to the developing construction in Talas region. The company also tackled the problem of dust formation on the ore route from the quarry to the Mill. Now special eco-friendly anti-dust agents are used.

In order to avoid accidents with severe outcomes, Alliance Altyn has ramped up its training in safe practices and methods for the staff. The company is adopting the best international HSE practices. Visits of special medical specialists with dedicated equipment directly to the production site are also organized.

The company successfully builds relationships with local people and government agencies. Jeruy is a place of work for 199 residents of Bekmoldo district and 295 people from other districts of Talas region. And this is without the contractors operating on site.

Altyn Alliance has established Talas Region Development Fund and invests 150 million soms annually. The company also supports farming: it has purchased 6 harvesters, restored a sugar factory, and issued interest-free loans for small businesses. Technical aid is also provided: the company allocates machinery to remove snow, extinguish fires and deliver water in the region.

Its cooperation with government agencies is quite smooth. Alliance Altyn LLC is an open company operating in full compliance with the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic.
