MPs of Kyrgyz parliament visited Jeruy

On June 19, Chairman of the Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Subsoil Use and Industrial Policy of Zhogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz parliament) Azizbek Tursunbayev and his deputies Marat Murataliev, Kunduzbek Sulaimanov, Zhenishbek Toktorbayev visited Jeruy site and inspected Talas Gold Mine. Together with the senior officers of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Technical Supervision and other representatives of government agencies.

The delegates visited the quarry, the tailings dump, had a look at the ore processing technology at the Mill and the living conditions of Alliance Altyn staff. The employees of the company spoke in detail about the operation of Talas Gold Mine. They also discussed the issues of environment and tax deductions of Alliance Altyn.

Marat Murataliev, ex-governor of Talas region & MP of Zhogorku Kenesh, advised Alliance Altyn managers to focus on business support and start new businesses in order to create more jobs in the region. He also asked to provide the hospital in Kok-Oi village with medical equipment.

Sabir Rakhmatov, General Director of Alliance Altyn LLC, shared the plans of the company to support the economy and social initiatives of Talas region. "To date, more than 1.2 thousand people work on Jeruy site. We give our staff annual 10 % pay rise," he said. "Talas Regional Hospital was granted medical supplies and equipment worth 11 million soms as financial aid. Together with Nurdin Sarymsakovich, hospital's director, we are looking to supply extra necessary medical equipment until September."

To date, the company has fulfilled 487 social programs worth 317 million soms. Recently, Alliance Altyn Development Fund has contributed to the opening of new sewing shops, a nursery and a sugar factory in Talas region. "We also seek to build a mini hydro-power plant in Taldy-Bulak and Bekmoldo villages, and we are also thinking about the projects of building solar power plants. These are large-scale projects; thus we are dealing with financial institutions. If the mini-HPP project is implemented within two years, Alliance Altyn can purchase up to 100 million kW*hr electricity," Sabir Rakhmatov noted.

In addition, the leaders of the company announced large-scale strategic socio-economic projects promising exponential growth to the economy of Talas region. Together with involved process engineers engaged in the production of building materials and products, Alliance Altyn worked out the possibility of using production waste (cake) as a building material. The carried out laboratory studies showed that cake can be used for the production of mortar mix, masonry blocks (semi-dry pressing), burnt bricks, aerated concrete, dry building mixes for interior and exterior finishing works. Today, the company is testing cake physical and chemical properties required to obtain future permits for the production of building materials and products.

The MPs were shown the samples of the above-mentioned building materials right at Jeruy tailings dump.

All work on Jeruy site is carried out in full compliance with the laws of Kyrgyzstan and international standards, including environmental and technical safety regulations.

"97 % employees on Jeruy site are citizens of Kyrgyzstan. Of these, 70 % are residents of Talas region. Today, we had a look at the company from the inside. Its operation is smooth and compliant with the laws," highlighted Azizbek Tursunbayev, Chairman of Zhogorku Kenesh Committee.

Alliance Altyn LLC has paid 6.7 bn soms taxes to the republican and local budgets as of June 17. Of these, 4.2 billion was paid out of the proceeds from the sale of gold.
