14.10.2021

On October 14, representatives of Alliance Altyn LLC met Talas district Akim Nurgazy Narmyrzaev and local activists at the Jeruy production site. The guests were introduced to the activities of the Mill, and given all the information about it. They were shown the tailings dump and told about the volumes of waste deposited there. Then a roundtable meeting took place. Questions of concern to the population, such as ecology and employment on Jeruy, were discussed at the meeting.

Adilet Akmataliev, Deputy CEO for Legal Affairs at Alliance Altyn LLC, said that the license for the Jeruy mining was obtained in August 2015 for a 20-year period. Since then, Alliance Altyn has paid 3 billion 358.2 million KGS in taxes to the national and local budgets. That includes 1 billion 424.5 million from the proceeds of gold sales since the plant's launch in March 2021.

"Our gold extraction plant and tailings pond are virtually unparalleled in Kyrgyzstan and are safe to operate. Based on the results of recent monitoring, the independent company Chuyskaya Ecological Laboratory reported that the development of the deposit has no negative impact on the environment," Adilet Akmataliev said.

Elena Kutmanova, chief ecologist of Alliance Altyn LLC, said that the company is currently testing Canadian and Russian reagents for dust suppression: they will pick the most effective ones. Also, a new weather station was installed on the territory of the processing complex. The main climatological parameters are recorded automatically and instantly sent to the computer center of the Central Asian Institute of Applied Geosciences for processing and obtaining data," she said.

Alexander Abramov, head of the HR department at Alliance Altyn LLC, explained the recruitment policy of the company. As of today, the company has 612 employees. Of these, 146 are residents of the Bekmoldo village area. Alliance Altyn LLC trained 361 residents of Talas oblast in mining. 186 of them are employed at Jeruy," he said. All our employees are aware of safety and environmental requirements and strictly comply with them.

Nurgazy Narmyrzaev told us that everything he saw at Jeruy convinced him that the mine is safe for the environment and the local population. "The most modern equipment is used in the field. The staff is professional and committed," he pointed out.

At the end of the round table, the participants decided to collaborate more closely in the future to achieve common goals - stable operation of the mine and improved living standards for the population. One of the promising projects is assisting Alliance Altyn in repairing the road at the Otmok pass.

It was decided to hold such meetings on a regular basis.
