11.11.2019

Today, on November 11, the blasting works at the Jeruy gold mine have begun in a festive manner. The first industrial explosion was attended by Emil Osmonbetov, Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use of the Kyrgyz Republic, Askar Sydykov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Industry and Entrepreneurship Development under the National Council for Sustainable Development of the Kyrgyz Republic, CEO of the International Business Council, Valery Latypov, Russian Trade Representative to the KR, Marat Murataliyev, Head of the Project Development Sector of the Kyrgyz Republic, Askhat Bekov, Head of the Project Development Sector of the Department of Strategic Development Policy, Economics and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic President's Office, and other officials.

The participants of the event also familiarized themselves with the shift camp, where the workers live, the construction progress of the gold extraction plant (the Mill) and the tailings dump.

In his speech, Mikhail Shubin, CEO of Alliance Altyn LLC, noted that the first explosion at the Jeruy open pit marks the beginning of the extraction of ore, which will be accumulated at the reloading warehouse and at the Mill site. We have to accumulate about 50 thousand tons of ore by the beginning of processing — around the New Year — in order to start the process of obtaining gold. This is one of the most important stages in the execution of the project," M. Shubin said.

The head of Alliance Altyn thanked the country's authorities for their support and the people for their understanding.

Emil Osmonbetov, chairman of SCIESU, stressed that the Jeruy project is one of great importance for the development of Kyrgyzstan's economy: This year, the government launched several mining facilities. This includes today's launch of the Jeruy open pit mine. We' ve been on our way to it for more than 40 years. And the implementation of this project will give a huge boost in tax revenues, wage increases, and social sectors. Therefore, we have to support the company in every way possible.

Askar Sydykov, in turn, pointed out that Jeruy is one of the largest investment projects in Kyrgyzstan, which will bring new technologies, new skills, and new expertise to our mining community.

A. Sydykov voiced the hope that Jeruy would be followed by new investment projects, not only in the mining sector, but also in other areas of the economy. According to him, all investors first look at the mining industry, they see how Kumtor and Jeruy work. The introduction of Jeruy is a positive signal to foreign and local investors.

It is especially gratifying that such a holding as Alliance Group has come to our country, because this company is known both in Russia and in the CIS. It has won numerous awards in corporate governance and other areas as company of the Year in the Russian Federation. For our part, the business community, and the Committee for the Development of Industry and Entrepreneurship, we will try to provide maximum support, — A. Sydykov added. On behalf of the business community, he congratulated Alliance Altyn and wished the company further success.
