The main technical water intake facility has been put into operation at the Jeruy PS. The contractor for the construction was Talas Decor LLC, which performed the work in a qualified and timely manner. The facility is located in the Tush-Ashuu river bed and is designed to supply water at a flow rate of 0.021 m³/sec.
The facility was built in compliance with environmental and sanitary requirements of water use:
- The water intake structure is of low-pressure dam type; its structure includes a curvilinear supply regulated channel, a coastal water intake head, a diversion regulated channel, a retaining structure and a left bank diversion canal with two-chamber sedimentation tanks, which deliver water to the pumping station. This design has minimal impact on the aquatic ecosystem, ensuring the preservation of its biodiversity;
- The water well prevents channel erosion, which will preserve the natural riverbed;
- weirs will prevent slosh and ice jams during the winter period, which will help preserve the natural flow of Tush-Ashuu.
In general, the company's need for fresh water from the Tush-Ashuu River is minimized by the water recycling system, which also prevents discharges of used water into the environment.
