Alliance Altyn LLC: Jeruy will be developed with strict adherence to the principles of social responsibility and environmental safety.

On March 31, a meeting was held between the Alliance Altyn LLC, which owns the right to exploit the Jeruy deposit in Talas oblast, and the local residents with the participation of D. Kenekeev, the authorized representative of the KR Government in Talas oblast; D. Zilaliev, head of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use, and representatives of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry, State Environmental Technical Inspection and the Ministry of Economy. Throughout the event, area representatives actively raised issues of their interest, including environmental risks and employment, and expressed support for the exploitation of the mine. The managers of Alliance Altyn informed the public about the company's activities over the past year, the current and upcoming works within the framework of compliance with the tender requirements and obligations under the license agreement. It should be noted that all conditions are met by the company strictly and in a timely manner.

Mikhail Shubin, Director of Alliance Altyn, noted that the exploitation of the deposit will be carried out in strict compliance with the principles of social responsibility, industrial safety and environmental protection measures.

LICENSE PAYMENTS

In 2015, Alliance Altyn paid $100 million to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic for the right to exploit the Jeruy deposit. At the President's order, it was decided to allocate these funds for the construction of 100 new schools and the overhaul of another 100 schools across the republic. In addition, 170 million KGS were allocated to the Talas Oblast budget, 170 million to the Talas District and another 170 million to the Bekmoldo village administration, on whose territory the deposit is located. These funds are used to organize regional and district development funds and to finance projects of social and economic importance.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC RESPONSIBILITY

In order to contribute to the social and economic development of Talas oblast, Alliance Altyn established the Bakubat Talas Welfare Fund with an annual budget of 100 million KGS in the first three years and 150 million in subsequent years. 70 % of the funding is allocated for lending to agricultural projects and the development of small and medium-sized businesses in order to create new jobs at 8 % per annum, while the remaining 30 % is donated to social projects. Thus, since last year, 242 residents of the oblast have received loans on concessional terms totaling 67 million 210 thousand KGS; moreover, applications for funding of social projects for a total of 16 million 152 thousand KGS were approved. In addition, the company takes an active part in socially important events of the oblast.

ABOUT 1,000 JOBS WILL BE CREATED

Mikhail Shubin, the director of Alliance Altyn, informs that construction works will start in the near future and the gold mining plant is expected to be commissioned in 2019. Once it reaches full production capacity, about 1,000 jobs will be created, and 90 % of the workers will be citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
