06.03.2024

Alliance Altyn became an industrial partner of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. A memorandum of cooperation between the mining company and the university was signed today.

The document provides for an extensive cooperation between Alliance Altyn and KRSU, both in education, research and practice.

"Today was the first big step in long-term cooperation with KRSU, aimed at organizing training, expanding the forms and methods of education, improving career guidance, raising the qualifications of both our employees and teachers of local schools and instructors of inter-sectoral training centers, as well as providing internships and conducting joint analytical and research work. We hope that our cooperation will lead to high results and contribute significantly to education," said Sabir Rakhmatov, Director of Alliance Altyn.

The signed document is long-term and strategic in nature, according to Denis Fomin-Nilov, acting rector of KRSU.

"Our students will benefit from this cooperation, as it is intended to improve the quality of education. Our relations with the industrial partner will be enhanced greatly, since the primary mission of universities is to train specialists for the economy," Fomin-Nilov said.

Anton Rybakov, Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Department for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, who attended the memorandum signing ceremony, noted that the university’s engagement with an industrial partner adds value to the educational institution.

"The university is not an ivory tower of theorists who teach students without a purpose. Engagement with industrial partners is vital for any modern university. This adds the meaning, purpose to the university’s work, because a university must, among other things, train specialists for the economy," Rybakov said.

Rasul Abazbek uulu, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, stated that the memorandum between the university and the large company is important for the entire national education in terms of promoting the idea of workplace learning.

"This encourages the return of the dual education systems, where learners are directly engaged in the production process. Relationship with industrial companies was lost for the past 20-30 years. We hope that the signed document will boost the development of this kind of ties," he explained.

Also, not only KRSU students will have the opportunity to take internships, training and pre-graduation internships at Jeruy gold mining site. It is expected that the employees of Alliance Altyn will undergo training at KRSU’s partner universities in Russia, as required by the company.

In addition, the memorandum includes joint research and development activities of Alliance Altyn and KRSU, analytical studies and applied research, to improve the company’s technological process. Besides, industrial testing and piloting of innovations and ideas of KRSU faculty members are planned on the premises of the mining company.

"This is a mutually beneficial, valuable cooperation. The company gains new specialists and solves specific, applied problems with the help of the university’s scientists. As for the university, it is an opportunity to teach students on an applied basis. It is very important for students to learn about their future profession early, to try out the equipment they will soon operate," said Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation..

He stressed that Alliance Altyn is a large socially responsible company, actively contributing to the development of Talas region, and the university’s advanced training courses for teachers in Talas region, as well as other educational activities to promote the development of local communities, will be an important part of cooperation under the memorandum.

Active cooperation between Alliance Altyn and KRSU began prior to the signing of the memorandum. On February 14-16, the university delegation took a study tour of Jeruy gold mining site. It yielded good results: the visitors appreciated the production process and safety measures and asked for detailed information on the mine development in order to add it to the curriculum.
