At the initiative of Alliance Altyn LLC, a committee of local officials from Talas district, Talas oblast, carried out a targeted inspection of compliance with sanitary and environmental standards at the Jeruy gold mine on May 15.

Due to the spread of rumours and insinuations on social media regarding the environmental and sanitation situation at Jeruy, the company has suggested establishing an objective state of affairs and checking the work of the contractors. The Jeruy production site was inspected by Damir Sydykov, akim of Talas district, Bolot Omuraliev, head of the Talas district police department, Zhanbolot Askerbekov, head of the district sanitary and epidemiological service, Kubanychbek Kanybekov, head of the Bekmoldo aiyl okmotu, Avaz Ibragimov, chairman of the Bekmoldo aiyl kenesh, Bakyt Alybayev, chairman of the Committee on Subsoil of the Bekmoldo aiyl kenesh.

During the inspection, the committee found that the site was generally in compliance with the necessary environmental and sanitary standards. Only minor irregularities by a few contractors working on the site were noted.

The committee instructed the heads of the contractors noted to rectify the irregularities as a matter of urgency and said that such inspections would be carried out on a regular basis.

For their part, representatives of Alliance Altyn noted that monitoring of compliance with sanitary and environmental standards in Jeruy is carried out on a daily basis by specialists of the company, and pledged to strictly check the activities of contractors.
